Why We Pray….Because True Prayer works

We pray to give thanks to our heavenly father that gives us life each day. A prayer to God will show us life and gives insight to us in this today world. Our prayers channel the right Godly atmosphere, where miracles happens. We know when two or more join together for intercessory prayers we know connect to the Holy Spirit, God hears our heart and our prayers. This is why we should pray daily, constantly through out the day.

handle it?

En klottra för söndag eftermiddag-A scribbling for Sunday Afternoon

Flight prices for the London from Today's Sunday Times Newspaper.  It's the Olmypics soon, so book now and save?

Today's weather in the Western Cape
Hi all

How IS your Sunday going?

It has been a cold and wet day here today!  As the weather forecast above shows.

I found this recipe in a magazine a few years ago.  It was this week's final recipe that I decided to cook last night.  It is really easy to make, and tastes very good indeed!  Give it a try?

Romeo, next door's cat decided to take a cat nap on my bed after lunch today.  I thought that he had gone home as I hadn't seen him for a while, but he was sleeping on my bed!  I don't really like pets on beds so after I snapped this photo, I took him off my bed, he is asleep on a bit of newspaper on the desk, next to me at the moment.  Why do cats need 16 hours of sleep a day?  What do they do, if they are domestic cats?

The movie, The Help, which I rented from the video store yesterday is super.  I can't believe how racist people used to be!  People are people, we are all basically the same.  One poet wrote a poem with the words, "am I not a man, am I not cooled and warmed by the same sun, do I not think the same thoughts or have the same feelings? ..." but I cannot remember the rest of this poem or who the author of it is, we did it in English Class when I was 15?!?  I guess I have seen the movie now so there is no need to read the book of the Help? I love languages that's why I was in the A set English Class at St.John's College, I guess if you like a particular subject you excell at it?  Maths and Science are not my strong point!

Anyway that is all from me for today's blog postings folks!

Have a superb Sunday further!

Signing off for alnlyb,d-ab,the book and my amazingjourne blogs for this Sunday afternoon.

Simply Saturday....Helt enkelt lördag ....

Hi all!  How is your Saturday?  My blog post for yesterday was all messed up by the blog gremlins!  I saved it and tried to publish the content to my blog but the text I had typed disappeared somewhere!

IATA (the International Airline Association) are considering cancelling Air Zimbabwe's membership according to last night's news.  I went on the web and Air Zimbabwe (IATA code UM) currently have a fleet of 6 aircraft.  Only 5 of their aircraft are operational, their BAE 146 is stored somewhere.  They have an AirbusA340 on order with Airbus, 3 Boeing 737's - one of them was grounded at Cape Town Airport for a while, as they failed to pay for their air fuel! Their two Boeing 767 aircraft are over 23 years old! So a once "great"airline is about to exist no more.  I have flown Air Zimbabwe 2 or 3 times, and I knew somebody who used to fly with them on their flights from Harare to Cyprus.   Not the best airline, but not too awful either.

Sky News' newspaper reviewers the other morning had a report on how joining religious orders has grown by 33% in the UK, in the last year.  I don't think I would make a good nun!?!  I might have the above scenario happen to me under my habit!

The government of Uraguay  are thinking of selling weed to it's citizens who want to buy weed.  So that they don't loose out on a lucrative market!  Their national airline, PLUNA will get more passengers then I guess!  Competing directly with an airline from a European city that also has a relaxed policy regarding drug use?
Tonight I am cooking Chicken and mushroom hot pot, from a recipe I found in a magazine a few years ago.  It is very delicious this recipe, and easy to cook too!

My 5 blogs are getting a few reads from viewers all over the world!  Cool!?!  I need a few more comments on my Service? blog before I start publishing it though.  Thank you all of you who visit my blogs regularly.
And? The same? and the rest of them!

Unfortunately that is all from me for my blogs for this Saturday!  Have a great weekend further folks!

Tisdag saker - Thursday stuff

Lovely!

Traumerei Restaraunt, Franschoek

My mom at Traumerei Restaraunt. Franschoek Today
Out of my car window today!

extract From the cat's little Instruction Book
Hi all!  How has your Tuesday been?

It has been a typical Cape winter day, today, cold and raining!

Mom, Marti and I went to Franschoek today.  We were going to go to a restaurant recommended to me by my friend Brenda, over lunch at Doodles yesterday, Babylon Storen, we never went there in the end, they have a R10 entrance fee per person, just to enter their Winefarm.  What a liberty!  So you lost out on 3 lunch guests who went to Traumerei Restaurant in Franschoek instead.  So  overcharge, and loose out on revenue!

The food at Traumerei was excellent and they had a wonderful atmosphere in the retaurant today, it was cold and wet outside but they had a roaring fire blazing inside at the fireplace, very cozy.  It felt like a European Cafe, and I guess it is run by Germans or Austrians from the Restaurant's name?!?  Good coffee and food,  I had a Chicken Tramezini and it was a generous portion that they served, I am having 1 tramezini for my super, as there were 3 of them on my plate and I was very full after 2 of them, "I had the elegance of sufficiency!"  No need to look it up, this saying means you have dined, enjoyed and are full!

Romeo, next door's cat, was in our house when we got home, about four or five hours after we had left for the Winelands this morning.  He was not in the house when we left, is he magician cat?  There was only my bathroom window, which was open a small amount, which he must have entered through.

According to last nights news, South Africa is one of the most unhappiest countries in the world, according to an international survey!  We have sunshine folks, most of the time, so why are you all unhappy?  We have 11 official languages, 9 provinces and a goodish interest rate, if you have money in a bank account. So cheer up my fellow country men?!?

Unfortunately that is all from me, for today's blog postings folks!  Have a great day further!

My tele program

Wednesday Words - Onsdag ord

This was on the notice board of the bookroom of our shop, today!  It  appealed to me?

Silver Service

Hi all!  How is your Wednesday?

It has been a lovely sunny day here in Bloubergstrand (where I live and the restaurant Doodles is) / Table View (248 Blouberg Road where the St.Luke's hospice shop is) today.  There has been a cold and icy wind blowing today, but what's the use in complaining?

Nothing to write on today's blog post that might change the world!

Me and some of the other St. Luke's Hospice shop, volunteers, had lunch at Doodles Restaurant on the beachfront after our 3 hour morning shift today, The Pensioners menu was R38, whereas on the normal menu. my medium size Pizza cost R58?  Why?  Same food?  I am eligible for a disabled pension in South Africa, but it is quite difficult to get through the application process.  I gave up a few years ago applying for one, as the line of people waiting was so long, the health department worker had attitude and would never have served the volume of people waiting to receive or apply for a disability pension that day!  I love South Africa, they are now changing the Pension system to a card system and all pensioners who previously registered, must do so again!  What a load of fuss and nonsense for +- R1000-00 a month!

My 3 blogs are so popular these days!  Cool!  A bit of a money earner!

Anyway not much to write on todays blog posts!?!

Signing off for all my blogs for today!

Have a great day further folks!

Tuesday 19 June 2012

Hi all! How is your Tuesday?

It is a super sunny day here in Bloubergstrand today.  When the wind blows today it is an icy cold wind, probably from the freezing cold Atlantic Ocean.  So not all good or all bad weather-wise  today!

The video clip with Sharon Osborne on it, was on Sky News today.  She is asking anyone with faith or who is thinking positively to think about her son Jack who has just been diagnosed with MS, she believes this will be helpful.  I believe her statement 100% . I feel that people's prayers and  thoughts had an amazing influence on my recovery in 1997.  Her tears on this clip were tears that you can feel even through a TV screen.  I know about 3 or 4 people with MS, as I posted to yesterday's blog postings, and they all thought an MS diagnosis was the end for them, thank GOD it wasn't, just a huge change in their life.

I find the information below interesting and I hope you might do too....?

Cat's understanding of language
Quote by Jean Marion, "I was reincarnated from a cat".

Cats learn sounds... the word food sounds a lot different than the word No!  They understand and learn to associate sounds with both the attitude that they are said with and the outcome.

If I say 'time for night night' every night, not only is he hearing the same thing every night, but he is sensing the change of clothes, lights turning off, computers shutting down, a routine that he knows well.

They do not understand speech.  They understand what the sounds lead to.

Just as they know to come running when they hear the cat food hitting the bowl, and hide when they hear the vacuum cleaner.  They learn routines and a particular timber in our voice.  Either loving, exasperated, baby tones, playful banter.

They are smart, just not that smart..

Dogs understanding of language

Sure, most dogs understand the basics --"fetch," "sit" and "stay." But if you have the motivation and patience, you will probably be able to teach your dog even more than 100 words. Stanley Coren, a psychologist who has performed a significant amount of research on the subject of dog intelligence, suggests that average trained dogs know about 160 words [source: Coren].
Some dogs even show a vocabulary as vast as a human toddler's.

So who is the smarter pet? Debatable!  Cats or dogs?

Unfortunately that is all from me for today!

Signing off for all my blogs for this Tuesday Afternoon.  Have a delightful day furth folks!

Happy Birthday Helen! - Pen-blwydd Hapus Helen!

Hi all!  How is your Sunday?

Today it is my sister, Helen's 38th Birthday.  Have a super day! Gosh where did the time go? I remember her 11th Birthday Party, maybe the memory is from a photo we have, but I seem to recall some of this event in my memory.

It started off cold and overcast this morning.  The sun was out for an hour or so earlier, this afternoon, however  it is freezing cold and cloudy once more this mid afternoon.
Oh well, life goes on!

Our Parish priest told us a funny joke, after mass at church today.  It is not often that you remember priest's joke's as they are mostly silly, but our current Priest is funny when he tells jokes!  They are looking for money from the parishoners once again at church, why do churches always bring up the money issue?  Anyway there's a 50 cent piece and a R200 note talking to each other about where they have been since the last time they met.  The R200 note has been to all these exotic places but the 50 cent piece says he has mostly been to church!  In other words people do not give too much money to churches!  And there's us all thinking that the Catholic church is one of the wealthiest churches in the world!  Where does the money go?  Maybe it is none of our concern?  Give and you shall receive?

Romeo, next door's cat has been in and out all day, as usual.  I think he is outside presently as I have not seen him in a while,

Elaine, gave me a voucher to redeem at her Spa and a box of chocolates yesterday afternoon when she came for a visit, for the pamphlets I distributed for her Spa.  I can't believe she got so many bookings from the pamphlets I posted in my neighbours letter boxes.  Statistically if you put 100 brouchers out you will get about 8 or 9 people interested in your product/service. I guess the fact that most of my neighbours are her clients at the Spa helps? Statistics are never accurate anyway!  or at least that's what my marketing book told me, when I did a correspondence course a few years ago.

Anyway I seem to have run out of things to put on today's blogs.

So I guess I will have to say adieu to you!  Have a super Sunday further folks!

Signing off for all my blogs for today.

P.S.Anybody think that I can take a sleeping bag on my upcoming long haul flights?  I get so uncomfortable on long haul flights and the little blankets they put on your seat in the plastic wrapping could not even fit a 12 year old!  Just a thought.  Only positive suggestions from my blog readers will be read!
