Jabulani (a Zulu word - meaning to celebrate)

Sunday 31 August 2014

I love Sundays- the end of a week gone by and the hopes of a new week ahead.  It is a super, sunny and warm, day here in Blouberg (Cape Town) today.  It is on sunny days that you really feel that God is with you and blessing you.  On the rainy days I feel this too but sunny days make you feel happy!  The birds singing and people enjoying a gift from God - good weather.

I hope you all (anyone who reads this blog posting) have a super week surrounded with God's richest blessings!

Amen.

Prayer of the day
"Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? (Luke 14:28)
Let us pray: Lord Jesus, you have shown us how to live in humility and simplicity. You were the Son of God but you did not take advantage of this divine truth. Instead, you chose to lead your disciples to live an ideal Christian life, free from earthly desires, envy and greed. Teach us Lord to be the same thing. May we control our desires and long only for what is essential and necessary. Stop us from getting too ambitious and from being materialistic. May we learn to live according to our means and be contented and happy. Teach us to strive and work hard with honesty and humility if we want to improve our living. Amen.
